Titan Level: 45
Path to Quaking Earth Titan
The Quaking Earth Titan can be found in the Asado Desert in western Paldea, in the far western portion of it. Assuming you’ve unlocked all of the other abilities for Koraidon/Miraidon so far, getting to the Quaking Earth Titan should be fairly easy, but even if you haven’t (in which case, watch out, because it’s at a pretty high level!), all you really need to do is go north of where the Open Sky Titan was at and jump down the cliffs into the desert. You’ll want to go near the westernmost mountain to find it.
It’s rolling around rampantly, so you may need to rely on dashing while on Koraidon/Miraidon to catch up to it. However, unlike all of the previous Titans, the actual Pokémon you fight varies based on which version you’re playing! Both Titans resemble the Pokémon Donphan, though.
vs. Quaking Earth Titan (Scarlet)
In Pokémon Scarlet, you’ll fight against a mysterious creature known as Great Tusk.
Great Tusk is a Ground/Fighting-type Pokémon and is at level 45, so it might be a bit tricky to take down.
After bringing it down to about 10% of its max HP, it will retreat towards the large mountain in the western side of the desert. You’ll find it waiting patiently up against the edge of the mountain and, as you approach it, Arven will arrive and be willing to help take it down.
- Take Down
- Tail Whip
- Bullet Seed
- Fire Fang
He’ll use a Scovillain Lv. 44, which should be fairly helpful in the fight.
Once you’ve beaten Great Tusk, you’ll proceed to another cutscene with Arven, and after that is all over, you will receive the gliding upgrade for Koraidon/Miraidon, which allows you to glide in the air by pressing the B button while airborne. You can’t really fly upwards with this, so you’ll need to start at a higher position, and gravity will also kick in after you’ve been airborne for a few seconds so you can’t travel vast distances, but it can still be handy.
As with the other Titan Pokémon, you can explore the general area of the western Asado Desert and you’ll find a stationary Great Tusk, which you can battle and even catch. It will be at level 45 if you catch it and is a Pokémon you cannot otherwise obtain at this point in the game.
vs. Quaking Earth Titan (Violet)
In Pokémon Violet, you’ll fight against a strange, metallic creature known as Iron Treads.
Iron Treads is a Ground/Steel-type Pokémon and is level 45.
After Defeating the Titan
Once you’ve beaten Great Tusk or Iron Treads, you’ll proceed to another cutscene with Arven, and after that is all over, you will receive the gliding upgrade for Koraidon/Miraidon, which allows you to glide in the air by pressing the B button while airborne. You can’t really fly upwards with this, so you’ll need to start at a higher position, and gravity will also kick in after you’ve been airborne for a few seconds so you can’t travel vast distances, but it can still be handy.
Catch Great Tusk / Iron Treads
As with the other Titan Pokémon, you can explore the general area of the western Asado Desert and you’ll find a stationary Great Tusk (Scarlet) or Iron Treads (Violet), which you can battle and even catch. It will be at level 45 if you catch it and is a Pokémon you cannot otherwise obtain at this point in the game. It also has a special Mark which grants it the “(Pokémon) the Former Titan” title when sent out in battle, and it has very good stats (30 IVs in each stat).
Where to Go Next
If you’re following the Path of Legends storyline, the next and final Titan to take down (if you’re doing them in order) is the False Dragon Titan in northwest Paldea, in a lake known as Casseroya Lake. However, it is at quite higher of a level, at about level 57, so you may want to hold off for a bit. If you’re following the recommended path, you’ll want to head to the southwest corner of Paldea instead, to tackle the Alfornada Gym.
