While technically optional, you’ll arrive in the Motostoke Outskirts to the east of Motostoke after finding Kabu in Galar Mine No. 2. You can just take a Flying Taxi back to Motostoke, but there are a few items and Pokémon for you here in Motostoke Outskirts you might want to check out first.

There’s really not all that much to do around the Motostoke Outskirts, so if you’re still sticking around, pick up the Amulet Coin directly behind the sign, which is very helpful as it doubles the amount of money you pick up after Trainer Battles so long as the holder was sent into the battle at any point during the fight. This has the same effect as the Luck Incense that was available in Hulbury, although this one is free. The effects don’t stack, though.
There are also 3 Great Balls to the south of the Galar Mine No. 2 exit, in the middle of some of the grass pathes down there.
Directly northwest of the sign, there’s a hidden bottle of PP Up by the pile of rocks. This raises the max PP of one of a Pokémon’s moves by 20% and can be used up to three times (for a maximum of a 60% boost). These tend to be a bit on the rarer side, so you’re probably best holding off on using them until you settle on your final moveset.

Fight against the Trainers in the area if you want, and then cross the bridge continuing west to reach Motostoke once again. Also keep in mind that there are various Feather items that can be found on the bridge, which raise your Pokémon’s base points (Effort Values aka EVs) for the respective stat by 1 point when used, or the Pretty Feathers which can just be sold. These respawn every now and then, so you might not find the same feathers on subsequent trips.
