A new trailer for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl was released today (along with a separate one for Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which will be covered in a separate post), and it shows off several features coming to the remakes, including the Pokétch, HM improvements, Amity Square changes, and making Poffins.

Some of the new features being introduced to the games that weren’t present in the originals include the ability to customize your Trainer with different outfits and choosing skin tone similar to modern games, the ability for Pokémon to follow you outside of battle, special areas in the Grand Underground to catch Pokémon in, and a vastly more interactive Super Contest system in the form of Super Contest Shows. Pokémon HOME connectivity is also confirmed for sometime in 2022.
A special Nintendo Switch Lite Dialga & Palkia Edition will be released on November 5, 2021 and resembles the old Dialga & Palkia Nintendo DS Lite that launched around the time of the original Diamond and Pearl.
Today, the release dates for the upcoming Pokémon games for the Nintendo Switch have been revealed—not just Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, but also Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are set for a worldwide release on November 19, 2021. You won’t have to wait for long after that, though, for Legends: Arceus; while it was initially slated for an “Early 2022” release, it turns out they meant that quite literally—it will be released worldwide on January 28, 2022.
The Pokémon Presents video presentation for Pokémon’s 25th Anniversary revealed the next entries in the Pokémon main series of games: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl. These two games are remakes of the original Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and are set for a worldwide launch in late 2021.
