The newest Pokémon TCG expansion, Shining Fates, has been released worldwide today, Feb. 19, 2021. This is a special expansion, so rather than having booster packs available individually, it features products like the Elite Trainer Box, Tins, and large “collections” that contain either a pin or an oversized card, similar to what they’ve done with certain sets in the past.

What makes Shining Fates exciting is the fact that Shiny Pokémon are all over the set, with over 100 Shiny Pokémon in the set. There are 9 Shiny Pokémon V, 7 Shiny Pokémon VMAX (including the illustrious Shiny Charizard VMAX), and three Amazing Pokémon. With over 30 Pokémon V and VMAX total in the set, it’s going to be a nightmare fun to collect.

Shining Fates Elite Trainer Box

The Shining Fates Elite Trainer Box contains 10 Shining Fates booster packs, a promo Eevee VMAX, and the other usual staples of Elite Trainer Boxes (an example can be seen in a previous unboxing for Sword & Shield—Vivid Voltage).

Shining Fates Tins

There are three different Shining Fates Tins available, which each contain a promo card along with 6 Shining Fates booster packs. The tins themselves can also be useful for storing cards or other things in. There’s a Shiny Boltund V, a Shiny Cramorant V, and a Shiny Eldegoss V Tin, and you’re guaranteed to get the promo you see on the tin.

Shining Fates Collection—Pikachu V

Shining Fates Collection featuring a jumbo Pikachu V from the set

This jumbo collection, called the Shining Fates Collection—Pikachu V, features an oversized promo Pikachu V card (along with a normal-sized version), in addition to 4 Shining Fates booster packs.

Shining Fates Mad Party Pin Collections

There are four different products available in the Shining Fates Mad Party Pin Collections line, and each of these contain 3 Shining Fates booster packs, as well as a promo card and a pin for either Bunnelby, Dedenne, Galarian Mr. Rime, or Polteageist, depending on which product you choose.

Shining Fates Mini Tins (Mar. 5, 2021)

Although these are not available yet, they will feature 2 Shining Fates booster packs along with a metallic coin.

Shining Fates Premium Collections (Mar. 5, 2021)

These are also not yet available and will be on sale starting March 5, 2021, but these contain 7 Shining Fates booster packs. There are two versions, one for Shiny Crobat and one for Shiny Dragapult; the Shiny Crobat one comes with promo cards for Shiny Crobat V, Shiny Crobat VMAX (along with an oversized version), and a corresponding coin, while the Dragapult version comes with Shiny Dragapult V, Shiny Dragapult VMAX (plus oversized version), and a coin as well.
