The Raid information for a 7-star Samurott Raid with a Bug Tera Type

From now until April 2, 2023 at 4:59pm PDT / 7:59pm EDT (23:59 UTC), you’ll be able to fight the powerful Unovan Samurott in 7-star Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and it is always a Bug Tera Type during these raids. It has the Mightiest Mark, which grants it the title “Samurott the Unrivaled” when sent out in battle.

You’ll need to have first unlocked 6-star Raids before it will appear in Black Tera Raid Crystals in your game, although you can still join other players if they have unlocked it. According to Serebii.net’s coverage, it knows Aqua Cutter, Megahorn, Night Slash, and Drill Run, and will also use Focus Energy, Swords Dance, and Bulldoze throughout the battle.

It leads with Focus Energy, which is particularly scary as it raises its critical hit rate by 2 stages, and since most of its other moves have a higher critical hit rate, it will land a critical hit with every single hit, meaning you will not be able to effectively lower its Attack stat or raise your Defense stat (or use Reflect) to soften its damage. It also uses

Defeating Samurott allows you to catch it, although you can only catch it once per game. You’ll also receive a guaranteed Ability Patch and TM088 (Swords Dance) the first time you defeat it. It also drops a lot of other items, such as Exp. Candies L and XL, and this is true every time you defeat it, making it worth fighting numerous times even if you can only catch it once.

This is the first of two weekends featuring this event. The second run takes place next weekend, from April 6, 2023 at 5:00pm PDT / 8:00pm EDT (April 7, 2023 at 00:00 UTC) through April 9, 2023 at 4:59pm PDT / 7:59pm EDT (23:59 UTC), so if you miss out this weekend or aren’t quite able to take it down in time, you’ll have another shot at it next weekend.
