Drednaw is a new Water/Rock-type snapping tortoise Pokémon that was first revealed on June 5, 2019. It’s a tough Pokémon that has a typing similar to a fair share of fossil Pokémon, but this Pokémon isn’t nearly as prehistoric.
Gigantamax Drednaw

On July 8, 2019, Gigantamax Drednaw was revealed. Upon Gigantamaxing, Drednaw gains the ability to stand on its hind legs, becoming bipedal and also nearly 80 foot tall. It is able to crash down on its enemies for massive damage while retracting its head into its shell for protection, until it needs to strike, which it can do swiftly.
Water-type moves used by Gigantamax Drednaw change to G-Max Stonesurge, which damages the foe and also scatters rocks across the foe’s side of the field, presumably with the same effect as Stealth Rock.
Drednaw’s Evolution Line
Drednaw is the final evolutionary stage of a two-stage line. Its earlier form is the small turtle, Chewtle.
Chewtle evolves into Drednaw at level 22. Unlike Drednaw, Chewtle is a pure-Water-type.

Drednaw’s jagged teeth are strong enough to bite through rock, iron, and everything in between, as evident from the Pokémon Direct video, showing it taking a bite out of a Gigalith in battle. Despite having a heavy shell, its muscles are well-developed, preventing it from hindering its speed.
It takes a skilled Trainer to tame a Drednaw and there are many stories of Trainers unable to handle the fierce nature of Drednaw having no other option but to release them back into the wild.
