A new trailer was released today for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and in it, more information about the upcoming games were revealed, including several new Pokémon, new Gym Leaders, and the new “evil” Team—Team Star.

New Pokémon

Three all-new Pokémon were revealed today, two of which are version-exclusive.

Klawf

Official artwork of Klawf

Klawf is a Pokémon resembling a sand crab. It’s a pure-Rock-type Pokémon and has either Anger Shell or Shell Armor for its Ability, the former of which being a brand new Ability. Anger Shell lowers Klawf’s Defense and Sp. Def when its HP drops below 50%, but then raises its Attack, Sp. Atk, and Speed by one stage.

Armarouge

Armarouge is exclusive to Pokémon Scarlet. It is a Fire/Psychic-type Pokémon that has Flash Fire for its Ability. It has a new move, Armor Cannon, which is a Special-based Fire-type move that lowers its Defense and Sp. Def after use.

Ceruledge

Ceruledge is exclusive to Pokémon Violet. It’s a Fire/Ghost-type Pokémon that also gets Flash Fire for its Ability. It also gets a new move, Bitter Blade, a Physical-based Fire-type move that heals the user by 50% of the damage it does.

Team Star

One of the three main storyline goals of the game, Starfall Street, is to take on the “evil” team of the Paldea region, Team Star, a band of rowdy deliquents that cause trouble for the school you’re enrolled in.

The team itself appears to be broken up into several different squads, with Mela as the boss of the Schedar Squad, also known as the Fire crew.

Road to Champion

One of the other main storyline goals is Victory Road, which is the traditional path of defeating the eight Gyms in the region, and then taking on the Pokémon League to become Champion, or at least receive Champion Rank, as the game mentions.

New Gym Leader: Brassius

Brassius is the Grass-type Gym Leader of Artazon and is shown to use both a Smoliv and a Sudowoodo in battle. Yes, a Sudowoodo, although he Terastallizes the Sudowoodo into a Grass-type Pokémon. During the trailer, Sudowoodo is shown to use a new move, Trailblaze, which is super-effective against the player’s Quaxly.

Pokémon League Chairwoman Geeta

The person overseeing the operations of the Paldean Pokémon League is Chairwoman Geeta. According to the official website, she is among the region’s Champions and “reigns supreme as the most skilled Trainer of all.”

Path of Legends & Titan Pokémon

The third of the main storyline goals is the Path of Legends, which has you follow your upperclassman, Arven, on his quest to obtain legendary rare ingredients called Herba Mystica. These are scattered across the Paldea region and are guarded by strong, super-sized Titan Pokémon. One of these Titan Pokémon was shown to be Klawf, the Stony Cliff Titan.

New Feature: “Let’s Go!”

Another new feature was revealed on the official website, which is the Let’s Go! feature. Using Let’s Go!, you can send out one of your Pokémon in a given direction and it will pick up items, automatically battle against wild Pokémon, and more. You can even follow your Pokémon around while it’s out and about.

It features scarlet and violet colored Joy-Cons and has a lot of Scarlet & Violet theming on the system itself as well as the dock. You can see pictures of this down below. It does not come with the game, though; you have to buy that separately.
