Kicking off today’s Pokémon Direct presentation was the announcement of a remaster of the original Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games — Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team (DS) and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team (GBA) — that were released in 2006.

The remaster is called simply Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, and it will be released for the Nintendo Switch on March 6, 2020. The trailer, while short, shows off several memorable scenes from the original games redone in the new style. A demo for the new game will be available later today.

Some interesting details from the trailer include:

  • The art style for the game has a storybook look to it, sort of reminiscent of the artwork style from the original games.
  • Lucario is present and playable within the game.
  • By eating an Empowerment Seed (and potentially fulfilling some other condition), Pokémon can Mega Evolve, as Mega Charizard X has been shown in the trailer.

Here are some screenshots from the trailer.
