The Pokémon Y Wonderwedlocke Wednesday series was a weekly challenge series that would air on Twitch every Wednesday for approximately two hours. It was originally meant to be streamed on YouTube, but due to YouTube irreversibly corrupting the first stream, it was restarted and hosted on Twitch instead, which was more reliable.
This series began in April 2014 and ended in November 2014.
As lots of training was necessary at certain parts throughout the series, special guests were brought on for co-commentary to help pass the time throughout these parts.

Rules of the Challenge
Here are the rules of this specific challenge, which are copy and pasted from the description of the videos on YouTube.
- I can only catch the first Pokémon I encounter in any route or area
- (exceptions: the forced Pidgey on Route 2 and forced Snorlax on Route 7 do not count).
- Fainted Pokémon are considered dead and must be released or permanently boxed in the PC.
- Immediately after a new Pokémon is caught, I must Wonder Trade it away and treat whichever Pokémon I receive as my encounter for that route instead of what I had originally caught.
- (Exception: I keep my starter until after I’ve caught a Pokémon, then I Wonder Trade the caught Pokémon. If it less than level 5, I switch-train it until it reaches level 5, then I Wonder Trade away my starter. This is to prevent winding up with two level 1’s.)
- Dupes Clause applies, although ONLY for Wonder Traded Pokémon (i.e., if I receive a Bunnelby over Wonder Trade, any future Bunnelby I receive do not count and are immediately retraded).
- Pokémon are paired together in battle as per the Wedlocke Rules. (http://youtu.be/nZ2YwKAYHyY)
- The Gender Clause part of the Wedlocke Rules applies ONLY to Pokémon I receive over Wonder Trade; if I receive an incompatible or genderless Pokémon, I must retrade it immediately.
- Legendary Jackpot Clause: if I receive a legendary Pokémon over Wonder Trade, I must Wonder Trade it away immediately, but I get a bonus catch for any previous area which I can use to Wonder Trade away.
- Shiny Clause: if I run into a Shiny Pokémon in the wild, I may catch it. If it is my first encounter, I keep it; if it is a later encounter, I skip the next new encounter I get, but get to keep the Shiny.
- Level limit: my Pokémon must always remain at a level no higher than the upcoming Gym Leader’s highest level Pokémon. This means the level steps are 12, 25, 32, 34, 37, 42, 48, 59, and then the limit will be 65 before entering the Elite Four. If I receive a higher level Pokémon over Wonder Trade, I must Wonder Trade it away immediately and do not count it.
- Exp. Share is allowed, but only during dedicated training sessions. Unless it gets really slow, since I can play only two hours a week. (With the level limit, though, Exp. Share isn’t too broken.)
- NOTE: Despite being in the rules that it was allowed, the Exp. Share was not used throughout the series.
- No items may be used in battle other than held items and different types of Poké Balls.
- PSS, Pokémon-Amie, and Super Training are not allowed.
- Mega Evolution is not allowed.
- (Exception: The Lucario fight vs. Successor Korrina, where it’s mandatory.)
