- Ponyta can always run from a wild Pokémon battle, regardless of Speed or other trapping effects.
- Flash Fire
- Ponyta is immune to Fire moves and increases the power of its Fire moves by 50% when hit by one and while active.

If you're looking for where to find Ponyta, you'll find the various methods listed down below, along with any notes or special locations. This should help you figure out how to get Ponyta in Pokémon Sword & Shield. (Currently this does not show most "strong" static encounters or Max Raid Battles.)
Special Ways to Get Ponyta
In the Isle of Armor (DLC), you can also find a person who will offer repeatable trades, and she will sometimes offer her Ponyta for your Galarian Ponyta. (Her location varies, similar to special characters in the Wild Area.)
Notes About Ponyta
In Pokémon Sword/Shield, it can only be bred by having a normal Ponyta or Rapidash hold an Everstone.
